What is the interior of a book?
The inside of a book is everything you see when you open the book. It consists of all pages of text, photos, illustrations, and graphs. The interior therefore contains the contents of the book such as chapters, the table of contents, the foreword and the afterword. A well-designed interior ensures that the text is clear and uncluttered. Using the right fonts, margins, and layout makes a big difference to the reading experience. These are elements for designing the interior of a book.
Interior finishes
There are a number of other factors to consider when providing the interior work. For example, the choice of paper type is important for the quality and appearance of your book. There are many possibilities. We list them here for you.
Print type inside
First of all, it is important to think about the colors you want to use in the interior of your book. A classic black print is ideal for texts and documents and provides a timeless look. Do you want images to really come to life? Then you can opt for a full color print. At Tipoprint you also have the option to choose PMS inks, especially useful for colors that must always be consistent, such as your corporate identity colors. This ensures accurate and uniform color reproduction.
Coated or uncoated paper
Paper structure can vary greatly. Some papers are uncoated, while others are coated. Uncoated paper has a matte finish and is ideal for reading texts, while coated paper has a smooth texture that displays images sharp and clear. If you choose coated paper, you can also choose between a matte glossy variant or a semi-matte variant. For reading books, there are special types of paper, such as Roman print, available in cream and off-white shades, which are not bright white.
Paper weight
The weight of the paper also affects its strength and how well the book stays open. Making a choice can be difficult, which is why we are ready to advise you and can send examples to help you make the right choice.
Requirements for delivering the interior work
Are you going to deliver the interior of your book to us soon? Here are some requirements we would like to share with you.
Format of the book
When laying out the inside of a book, it is important to choose the right format. This determines not only what the book will look like, but also how it reads and feels to the reader. At Tipoprint you can choose from various standard formats, such as A5 for compact books, A5 landscape for photo albums and A4 for more space for texts and images. However, if you have a different format in mind, you can always contact us for advice and tailor-made solutions.
When laying out the interior, it is important to take the dimensions of the chosen format into account. This prevents texts from being cut off or from leaving too much empty space on the pages. By carefully setting the margins and adjusting the layout to the size, you ensure that the interior is displayed properly.
