Delivery specifications

Our delivery specifications help you correctly deliver files that are ready for printing.

We ensure that your book printing process runs smoothly. That is why we would like to inform you about the delivery specifications for your printed matter. These guidelines will help you correctly submit files that are ready for printing. Read the guidelines for supplying your interior here, so that together we can guarantee high quality and prevent any delays in the production process.

File format

We prefer to receive the interior as a PDF file. You can create these with graphic programs such as Adobe Indesign, Illustrator or Photoshop. PDF files are the most reliable and consistent.

Using professional software reduces compatibility issues and ensures a smooth transition from design to print. Don’t have any graphics programs? Then we recommend hiring a graphic designer. Of course we can also help you with this. Together we strive for a top quality end product!

Colour specifications

Use CMYK files, possibly supplemented with PMS colors, for color consistency between print and design. For a deep black color, we recommend adding small percentages of other color channels in addition to black (K). A combination of 40% cyan, 40% magenta and 30% yellow creates a more intense black tint.

Does your file contain black texts? Then these may not be composed of CMYK colors, but only black ink (K). This prevents possible registration problems and ensures sharp, clear text.

Note: Avoid RGB files, as they are optimized for display on screens and not for print

Margins and dimensions

Ensure there is a minimum cutting margin of 3mm on each page. This allows sufficient space for cutting the pages during the production process and prevents important content from being cut off. When images or backgrounds extend to the edge of the page, they should extend slightly beyond the cut line so that no white edges appear after cutting.

Imagery

ImageFor images and other graphic elements, it is preferable to use a resolution of at least 300 dpi. This ensures a sharp and clear display of the images in your book. A lower dpi can cause blurry prints.

Other design details

In addition to the above points, there are other important delivery specifications for printing your book to take into account:

  • Text color and thickness: Make sure text color is consistent and clearly readable on the paper you have chosen. Use a minimum line width of 0.25 mm for a sharp print.
  • Barcode: Does your publication contain a barcode? Then build this up in just black.
  • White on overprint: Make sure white elements are not on overprint.
