Delivery specifications

For the delivery of your book cover, there are specifications your file must meet. By carefully following these submission specifications, we can print the cover of your book perfectly. For the book cover, there are requirements regarding file formats, colour specifications, margins and other design details. Make sure your files comply with this for a flawless printing process.

File format

Provide the book cover as a PDF file. Place the front on the right, the back in the middle and the back on the left. Check out our book cover editing page to learn more about the design and tools for a beautiful book cover.

Colour specifications

For black text, use only the K (black) of the CMYK colour palette. Very thin lines can cause problems and come out of production as dotted lines. Therefore, lines should not be thinner than 0.25 mm.

For optimal colours, we would like to receive your PDF with the following colour profiles:

Margins and dimensions

The dimensions of the book cover depend on the number of pages and the chosen paper type. For this, we have a tool that creates a working drawing and shows the dimensions to be supplied. Thanks to this tool, the dimensions will perfectly match your book.

Important contents should be at least 5 mm from the edge. Also allow for a minimum cutting margin. This depends on the type of cover you choose. See below the cutting margins for each cover type:

Cover spine printing

We can also print on the spine of the cover. Add it as the second page in the same PDF file. Around the spine, leave 5 mm space between both pages so that no glue gets on this during binding.
